Taproot Overnights take place at the Taproot Farm in rural Iowa County, or, on occasion, at various other local natural areas such as F.W. Kent Park near Oxford and the MacBride Nature Recreation Area near Solon. 

Food is an important part of the Taproot Overnights. Kids prepare and eat excellent meals, with an active focus on locally-produced and organic food, often grown and harvested right on the Taproot Farm. Children sleep in the Taproot tepees, in camping tents, or in the Taproot House, in the large, second-floor loft known as the “Taproot Dorm.”
